Mission Statement

To develop the professionalism and image of the Customs Broking, Freight Forwarding and Logistics industry, and to create an environment that benefits all members. To facilitate affiliation and participation in the pursuit of industry goals.

Vision

What do we see as our role in New Zealand commerce?
"To be the Transport Logistics Organisation for New Zealand."

The Aims of CBAFF

- provide a quality, accessible service to all members.
- liaise, maintain and develop communication within the industry and between various stakeholders to ensure mutually beneficial strategic partnerships result.
- maintain strong links with Government and other bodies that influence how the industry operates.
- promote the industry in the wider environment.
- procure and disseminate information relevant and helpful to members.
- educate less experienced participants in the industry.
- encourage and facilitate continued training in Freight Forwarding and Customs Broking.
- establish a Code of Ethics, that will assist members to perform in a cohesive and professional manner, to the benefit of the overall image of the industry.
- support all members with concerns.
- prepare members to meet the challenges of the future

CBAFF Code of Ethics

It is a requirement of membership of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Federation NZ Inc that members shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and abide by the Federation's Code of Ethics.

This Code requires members to ensure that:

- Dealings with clients are professional and consistent with the highest
professional standards of facilitation, advice and client care at
all times.

- The legitimate interests of the client are paramount in any
recommendations and advice given.

- The client's best interests are above the consideration for personal
gain.

- Any conflicts between the member's own interests and the client's
business are disclosed and that any conflict of interest between
different clients is avoided.

- The confidentiality of the client's information protected.

- In the course of their work, all legislative and legal requirements
are met and clients are informed when the member becomes aware of any
breaches or potential breaches of compliance in the client's business.

- Client contracts for services are clear, unambiguous and easily
understood.

- Fair Trading and similar legislation is complied with and they do not
solicit for clients in a manner that is misleading.

- Any staff or contractors employed by then behave in a manner
consistent with this code.

- Cultural values and differences are respected in all professional
activities.

- Act with integrity and protect, maintain and advance industry
professional standards.

- They do not use the Federation's name, logo or engage in conduct that
damages integrity of the Federation or profession of Customs Broking
and/or Freight Forwarding.
